HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The First Sergeants Council announced the winners of a 31-day ‘Run-Walk-Cycle’ challenge here Aug. 11.

The challenge took place throughout the month of July and invited anyone associated with the base to engage in a healthy, active lifestyle. The First Sergeants Council hosted a similar run-walk challenge in May of this year, but the most recent event included biked miles.

“Everyone involved was really glad to have an excuse to get out and keep moving,” said Master Sgt. Anthony Poulin, organizer for the event. “Once again, we had people put up some really impressive numbers.”

The top male, female and youth runners are:

Peter Keane – 301 miles

Kerstia Sullivan – 328 miles

Levi Poulin – 19 miles

The top adult and youth cyclists are:

Justin Hoffer – 407 miles

Willow Hoffer – 64 miles

Poulin said the challenges have been an overall success, and the First Sergeants Council is looking to establish an annual challenge over the spring and summer months.

“Our mission was to keep people moving, and we did that,” he said. “If we can inspire just one person to work out, then we’ve completed our mission.”
