The Bedford Day celebration begins with a road race starting at 8:30 a.m. from the John Glenn Middle School.
Then the annual Bedford Day Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Town Hall complex, 10 Mudge Way. The fair includes food, activities and entertainment for all ages.
The event also features a parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. The parade route will proceed north on Great Road from Loomis Street and disperse at Mudge Way. Parade participants include Bedford town officials and local organizations, as well as Hanscom representatives Col. Katrina Stephens, installation commander, and Chief Master Sgt. And for the first time, fireworks will be included. The fireworks display will start at 7:30 p.m. with the suggested viewing area between the Bedford High School and Town Hall center.
“We appreciate our connection to our Hanscom neighbors and being able to celebrate together,” said Amy Hamilton, Bedford Recreation director. “Bedford is enriched by shared experiences with Team Hanscom in our schools, in recreation programs, and in daily activities in the town. We look forward to celebrating this shared community on Bedford’s anniversary.”
