HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Families living on base with children enrolled at Bedford High School have until Oct. 31 to complete and submit the 2021-2022 Federal Impact Aid Survey for federally-connected students.
The Federal Impact Aid Program assists local school districts that have a significant number of students living on military installations or other federal properties.
“We must take every opportunity to improve our children’s education, and this is one such opportunity,” said Col. Katrina Stephens, installation commander. “I strongly encourage families to complete their surveys and submit them by the deadline.”
In lieu of certain taxes for federal families, Impact Aid replaces a portion of what other individuals pay in taxes to fund public education.
This year’s survey is electronic, and can be found and submitted at www.bedfordps.org/district/business-office/pages/annual-federal-impact-aid-survey-pl874.
“The surveys are especially important this year as we transition back to the in-person model of learning,” said Laurel Wironen, Hanscom’s school liaison officer. “Submitting these surveys really acknowledges the value of education Bedford Public Schools provide our students, and will help ensure the resources are there for our children.”
Any information gathered via the survey is confidential and only available to school and federal officials.
For additional information or questions about the forms, families can contact Laurel.Wironen@us.af.mil.
