HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Effective July 11, the commissary here will be open to authorized patrons for limited operations on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The new Monday opening is part of a Defense Commissary Agency pilot program.
“The pilot will assess how well seven-day shopping is received by the Hanscom community,” said Kelly O’Brien-Gosselin, Hanscom’s commissary officer.
According to O’Brien-Gosselin, the store will just be open for limited deli and other grocery needs with self-checkout registers only.
Commissary officials held a brief ceremony July 11 to mark the occasion.
The pilot program does not have an end date at this time, according to store officials.
