HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Airman and Family Readiness Center here is changing names to better align with supporting Department of the Air Force Airmen and Space Force Guardians, as well as sister services in the area.
Now known as the Military and Family Readiness Center, staff will offer the same services and programs for single and married military personnel, Department of Defense civilians, retired service members and their families.
“The Hanscom Military and Family Readiness Center is focused on connecting families here with a world-class family support system, and to better reflect our services for all military branches,” said Bethany Campbell, M&FRC director. “The change is in name only and will officially happen Sept. 1.”
Among the services the M&FRC provides include deployment readiness, Exceptional Family Member Program and employment and transition assistance, financial readiness, relocation assistance, casualty assistance and survivor benefit planning and the personal and family work life program.
“As the only active-duty Air Force base in New England, we recognize the need for services across the board. With the emphasis on Military and Family Readiness, we can show we’re not just here for the Air Force and Space Force,” said Campbell.
All M&FRC programs are free and held either on base at the Community Support Center in Building 1240 or virtually.
“If you have access to us, we’re going to help you,” Campbell said. “We strive to provide useful information and education on so many aspects of military family life and personal growth to all members of Team Hanscom.”
A complete list of August classes are listed on the center’s website.
