MDS summer schedule reduces appointments Published June 4, 2013 By 66th Medical Squadron HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The 66th Medical Squadron will have significantly less appointments available in the Family Health and Pediatrics clinics over the summer months. To ensure healthcare needs are met, the number of referrals to civilian TRICARE providers and medical treatment facilities for all types of medical appointments will increase. The clinic understands limited appointment availability may affect servicemembers and their families. To lessen the impact, the 66th Medical Squadron has decided to extend the elective enrollment period. During the elective enrollment time, any active duty family member, retiree or retiree family member currently enrolled at the Hanscom Clinic may instead enroll with a local TRICARE Prime provider or Uniformed Services Family Health Plan provider. If considering changing enrollment, patients can obtain more information on TRICARE Prime providers by calling 1-877-TRICARE, logging on to Health Net Federal Services at www.hnfs.com or visiting the TRICARE Service Center. If patients elect to enroll with a TRICARE Prime provider in their community, TRICARE representatives can assist with transferring enrollment over the phone or online. A visit to the TRICARE Service Center is not required. To learn more about US Family Health Plan options, call 1-888-815-5510, log on to www.usfamilyhealth.org or visit with a representative on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brighton Marine Clinic located at 1609 Eglin St, Hanscom AFB.
