Company Grade Officer Council kicks off the new year

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. --  The Company Grade Officers Council is starting off the year running. The 2013 kickoff meeting took place when the CGOs, Hanscom's newest officers, gathered to harness fresh ideas and focus their enthusiasm.

The newly elected executive council for 2013 shared their vision of the organization for the upcoming year, requesting the participation and help of members.

"I really am looking forward to this year and working with the team," said 2nd Lt. Daniel Langston, CGOC executive officer. "I believe our president has a firm vision and I hope to make those ideas a reality"

The executive officers also shared the upcoming events for the first quarter of 2013. Events include an "Abs of Steel" workout in the Hanscom fitness center; Margaritas Mexican Restaurant fundraiser; Lt. Col. Dan Ward talk about his book, "Simplicity Cycle"; Air Force Research Laboratory Commander's Challenge 2013 presentation; and a leadership night with retired Col. Chuck DeBellevue.

The Magaritas Mexican restaurant fundraiser will be held Jan. 30 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Contact any CGOC officer for further information.

The Hanscom CGOC consists of junior second lieutenants, first lieutenants and captains. It is a private organization on base, which has an emphasis on its four pillars of community service, esprit de corps, professional development and base support.
