Air Force’s entertainment showcase ‘Tops in Blue’ Published Oct. 10, 2012 HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Tops in Blue, the premier entertainment showcase of the U. S. Air Force, will perform at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Mass., on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free to attend. Throughout the show, the audience is invited to be a part of the dynamic rhythm of Tops in Blue and listen to the music of life through the sounds we hear every day. The 2012 Tops in Blue team, which organizers say is bigger and better than ever, is entertaining audiences worldwide with music and fun for the entire family. Dazzling lights, beautiful costumes and precision choreography are just a few of things Tops in Blue is known for all over the world, and this year's show is no exception. Listen to the dynamic rhythms of the Doobie Brothers, Earth, Wind and Fire, Whitney Houston, and Maroon 5. This year's tour also showcases the great country music of Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and The Zac Brown Band. Of course, no Tops in Blue show would be complete without the great patriotic music that honors our nation and its heroes. Tops in Blue shows the audience what has made their show a "must-see" event every year for more than half a century. The entertainment showcase group keeps 59 years of touring tradition alive by visiting bases throughout the United States and more than 20 foreign countries, which includes entertaining troops stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. Their aggressive tour schedule is made up of close to 130 performances throughout a 10 month period. The tour is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company, which has sponsored the program for nine consecutive years. This year's team is a reflection of the "best of the best" in the Air Force. Representing a wide variety of career specialties, they are an elite group of the most talented non-professional entertainers from throughout the service.
