Hanscom youth enter video contest Published July 25, 2012 By Tech. Sgt. Jennifer Foster 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Air Force Teen Council (AFTC) is hosting a team video contest, and the council with the most "likes" wins. Youth were asked to create an item that deployed members would find useful in their everyday life. The catch was that it had to be made out of duct tape. The Hanscom Youth Center worked as a team to create the useful item and made a one to two minute video explaining the purpose of the product. The teens then created a YouTube channel and posted a video of the final product. The video, showing a purse-like item made completely from duct tape, was recently posted to YouTube. The base with the most "likes" at the end of the contest will win five iPads for their Youth Center, the base with the second most "likes" will receive three iPads and the winner of the judge's pick will receive two iPads. Voting will continue until July 31 and the final numbers will be tallied on Aug. 13. The winners will be announced that same day on the AFTC website. "It's a great opportunity to allow the kids to think outside the box," said Scott Craver, Airman and Family Services Flight chief. "It's great to see them work together to come up with an innovative idea and then follow it through with a functional final product." Fans are able to vote two times on either the AFTC Facebook page at www.facebook.com/airforceteens or by doing a search on YouTube for "AFTC Deployed Item by Hanscom AFB."
