The library will be repurposing its facility starting July 23 in preparation for the Hanscom STARBASE program arriving this September

STARBASE is a youth educational program sponsored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. Students participate in "hands-on, minds-on" activities designed around a curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Hanscom's STARBASE is the first and only program in the state of Massachusetts and is scheduled to open in its doors to local school districts in the September or October timeframe.

To support patron's need for computer access, CAC enabled computers and a seating area will continue to be provided weekdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the former library facility. Effective July 21, the facility will discontinue to operate on Saturday and during evening hours.

Rosetta Stone language references, Chief of Staff of the Air Force reading list, CLEP/DANTES and voluntary educational materials have been moved to the Hanscom Education and Training Center, Building 1728, and are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Children's reading materials have been relocated to the Youth Center and are available for checkout.

Customers will still be able to pick up discounted aquarium and museum passes from Tickets and Tours, located within the Outdoor Recreation area. As a reminder, military and Hanscom ID card holders may use the museum passes; however, there is only one pass per museum per day. Patrons may pick up passes three days before the issue date.
