The Fitness and Sports Center recently received a new addition to its wide variety of fitness services and programs, an interactive Fitness on Request kiosk.

The interactive kiosk comes with a high definition projector and a 135-inch wide screen that gives users the chance to work out when and how they want, at no cost.

"The Fitness on Request kiosk has dozens of workouts uploaded and we can easily add dozens more," said Paul Shoesmith, Fitness and Sports Center operations director. "Just let the fitness center staff know what you are looking for and we can upload it."

The kiosk currently offers five different workout categories, including mind and body, core, cardio, muscle conditioning and instructional videos. Each of the categories offers a variety of individual and group workouts.

"The instructional videos are a great way to learn how the Fitness on Request kiosk works and how to execute certain exercises properly," said Shoesmith. "Users who want to get started right away can pick one of the classes we offer on our schedule, or schedule a private session of choice, at absolutely no cost."

All users must check in with fitness center staff prior to working out with the kiosk to guarantee an uninterrupted session, Shoesmith added.

"It's no coincidence that there are no classes scheduled before 9 a.m.," said Shoesmith. "We want to give our active duty members the chance to make the Fitness on Request kiosk part of their physical training. The kiosk certainly offers everything they need."

The complete list of scheduled workouts can be found on the fitness center's website at http://hanscomservices.com/FitnessandSportsCenter.asp#FitClasses, or by visiting the facility.
