Summer camp requests now being accepted Published Feb. 1, 2012 By Mark Wyatt 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Youth Center and School Age Program are now accepting summer camp request forms for Camp Quest and Camp Adventure for eligible children to attend this summer. Both camps provide a wide array of daily activities that are geared towards supporting children in personal interests and developmental abilities, said Tina Brown, the School Age Program director. Camp Quest is a full day summer camp for children ages "kinder-grad" to 12 years old. The tentative date for camp to begin, based on school dismissal, is scheduled for June 25. Camp Quest is held Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the School Age Program. The camp offers fun, engaging and enriching activities, games, sports and arts and crafts. In addition, weekly swimming, bowling, field trips and special entertainment round off an exciting camp experience, according to camp organizers. For more information, call 781-225-6051. Camp Adventure is a full day summer camp for 9 to 13 year olds. Scheduled to begin June 25, based on school dismissal, Camp Adventure is held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Youth Center. Before Camp Care is available from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and is limited and based on enrollment priority. Camp Adventure offers exciting themes, age appropriate activities, arts and crafts, games, music, physical activities and lots of fun, according to camp organizers. Eligible personnel include active duty military personnel, Department of Defense civilian personnel paid with either appropriated funds or non-appropriated funds, including AAFES, reservists on active duty or during inactive duty training and Department of Defense contractors. Those who are eligible but not assigned to Hanscom, or living on the installation, are given a lower priority. Interested families must fill out DD Form 2006 and return it to the Youth Center in building 1993 or to the School Age Program in building 1999.
