Reducing the number of ‘no shows’

The 66th Medical Squadron is asking for help in reducing the number of patients not showing up for scheduled appointments.

Failing to keep a medical appointment wastes local resources, diminishes the readiness posture of Hanscom and decreases availability of services to other active duty members, family members, retirees and their family requiring appointments. Every no show equates to an average loss of $469 per patient, totaling a loss of $72,000 annually.

Beginning this month, each time a military member does not show up for a scheduled medical appointment, their commander or first sergeant will receive notification of their member's no show.

Patients of the 66th Medical Squadron who are not able to keep an appointment are reminded to call 781-377-7476 to cancel the appointment as soon as possible. This will allow the medical squadron personnel to offer the appointment to another patient.
