2011 Educational Needs Assessment survey coming soon

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. --  This month the Hanscom Education and Training Center will launch the 2011 Educational Needs Assessment for all servicemembers, which includes reservists and guard members, as well as spouses, Department of Defense civilians and contractors with installation access.

The purpose of the assessment is to determine if the Hanscom Education and Training Center is offering the appropriate educational programs on base that meet the needs of the community.

Currently, Hanscom has two higher education institutions: Boston University and Park University. Boston University offers graduate-level programs, while Park University hosts undergraduate programs and offers military members an opportunity to complete courses necessary for their Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degrees.

The Education and Training Center will use the results of this assessment to enrich current educational programs offered at Hanscom.

The 2011 Educational Needs Assessment is a way for Hanscom community members to make their opinions and needs known.

"This assessment is the best way for us to listen to community members and then adjust our services to meet their needs and the needs of their families," said Gail Meyer, Education Services officer,

Participation in the survey is crucial to its success. Participants may also tell the education center how the programs they have participated in the past have met their needs.

The 2011 Educational Needs Assessment is electronic, using the Surveymonkey tool. It will also allow individuals to express their opinions anonymously, allowing for open and honest answers on issues that affect their future education. The link to the survey will be available in future articles, on Centernet and in an email link.
