Hanscom's Education and Training Center is hosting an open house to honor American Education Week. Anyone who has access to the base is invited to visit the center in Building 1728 on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will provide a way for members of the community to gain an understanding of what the Education and Training Center provides to meet educational and training needs. In addition, it provides a way to speak with the professionals who work in the area of formal education and training.

The events will include educational advisement, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) opportunities, civilian degree programs and school choices, scholarship information, GI Bill Post 9/11 transfer to dependents and military tuition assistance programs. Training and testing service capabilities will be highlighted, as well.

Representatives from on-base schools, Boston University and Park University, will be available to speak about their programs.

Those who attend will be invited to fill out the 2011 Educational Needs Assessment, which will be the means for the community to make their opinions known regarding on-base educational programs offered at Hanscom. The assessment will also be available online, via Surveymonkey, for those who are unable to attend the open house.
