Hanscom hosts job fair Published Oct. 27, 2011 By Sarah Olaciregui 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Hanscom's Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a job fair Nov. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hanscom Conference Center. At least 47 private sector and federal employers will be in attendance, hoping to fill job openings in a wide variety of occupations. "The benefits of hosting a job fair are: easier access to employment, networking opportunities for people transitioning from the military, as well as providing an opportunity for family members seeking employment," said Judy Tipton, A&FRC Community Readiness consultant. "Employers enjoy coming to the Hanscom Job Fair because they know they will find a highly qualified, experienced and professional pool of candidates." The job fair is open to any job seeker able to gain entrance to the base, including active duty military and their family members, Department of Defense civilian employees, along with Reserve and National Guard members and retired military from all service branches across New England. With a reputation for providing high-quality candidates, Hanscom has sponsored several successful job fairs over the past 19 years, according to Ms. Tipton.
