2011 Shiely, Wright, O'Neill award finalists announced, banquet Nov. 10

Electronic Systems Center Commander Lt. Gen. Charles Davis has announced the finalists for the 2011 Shiely, Wright and O'Neill awards. An awards banquet to recognize the nominees will be held Nov. 10 beginning at 6 p.m. at Hanscom's Minuteman Commons.

The Maj. Gen. Albert R. Shiely Jr. award is presented for organizational acquisition excellence to the most outstanding major and minor ESC programs. The award recognizes the vital role and significant mission execution these programs have provided for the nation's defense.

The 2011 finalists for the Maj. Gen. Albert R. Shiely Jr. award are:

Major Program

  • Space Fence Program - Command and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Directorate
  • Airspace Mission Planning Division - Battle Management Directorate
  • Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T) Program - Cyber/Netcentric Directorate
Minor Program
  • Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS) - Command and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Directorate
  • Joint STARS Modernization and Re-engining Program - Battle Management Directorate
  • Minuteman MEECN Program Upgrade (MMPU) Program - Cyber/Netcentric Directorate
The Harold M. Wright award is given annually to two Electronic Systems Center civilian employees for outstanding contributions to ESC's mission. It is presented for two categories: GS-13 and below and GS-14 and above. The award is given in honor of Harold M. Wright, the Electronic Systems Division commander's chief technical adviser from 1969 until his retirement in 1973.

  • Danielle B. Fennelly - Program Executive Office for Business and Enterprise Systems
The Lt. Gen. John W. O'Neill award is presented annually to two Electronic Systems Center military officers who have made outstanding contributions to the ESC mission. The award is given in honor of Lt. Gen. John W. O'Neill, the Electronic Systems Division commander from July 1964 to July 1967, and is presented in two categories: major and below and lieutenant colonel and above.
