On Sept. 26, after seventy-two thousand votes were counted and judges' votes tallied, it was announced that Tech. Sgt Andrew Limes of the 66th Security Forces Squadron, and his fiancée, Lauren Joyce, are the winners of "A Wedding to Remember."

Sergeant Limes and Ms. Joyce were one of three finalist couples in a contest to a win an all-expense-paid wedding for an area military member on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11, 2011, sponsored by Fox 25 and the Westin Copley.

Each couple had to submit an essay that told their story and do an on-air interview. Once the stories of all three couples were posted online, people were allowed to vote for the couple and story they thought should win. That figured accounted for 50 percent of the decision, while the rest was based on input from the contest judges.

Ms. Joyce said she knew they had to enter because they had a great story to tell. From meeting at a Red Sox game to a connection regarding a specific date to a deployment that postponed their first wedding date, the couple has stayed strong. An article about the couple and their decision to enter the contest can be read on Hanscom's website at http://www.hanscom.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123272061.

As the judges thought all three entrant couples were deserving, the other two couples, including another couple from Hanscom, 2nd Lt. Cadman Lau of the C2ISR Directorate, and his fiancée, Melinda Reyes, will also be receiving gifts.
