Air Force's entertainment showcase 'Tops In Blue' visits next week

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. --  Get ready for a fantastic night of free entertainment when Tops in Blue, the premier entertainment showcase of the U.S. Air Force, comes to Wilmington on Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Shriner's Auditorium for one performance only.

Admission is free and tickets are not required. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.

In this year's show, Tops In Blue drums up their own rhythm. Audiences will be tapping their feet to pulsating music from great performers like the jazz of Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday, the great rock 'n' roll sounds of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, the cool Motown R&B of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, hits by Jennifer Lopez and Michael Franti, some inspirational country sounds and much more.

No Tops In Blue show would be complete without famous patriotic music, as they pay tribute to the heroes of Sept. 11, 2001, as their sacrifices are recognized ten years later.

"Tops In Blue is the Air Force's premier entertainment showcase," said Tom Edwards, show producer and chief of Air Force Entertainment. "The new 2011 team is a reflection of the 'best of the best' performers throughout the Air Force."

The 2011 Tops In Blue team keeps in line with the more than 57 years of touring tradition by visiting all bases throughout the United States and more than 25 foreign countries. Their aggressive tour schedule spans more than 125 locations and also includes entertaining forward-deployed troops in various locations such as Iraq, Afghanistan and other Southwest Asia bases.

The 2011 tour is sponsored by Coca-Cola. This is Coca-Cola's seventh year of financial support.
