As an important reminder to all base personnel, Hanscom will continue to run its airport shuttle service throughout the summer for all those embarking on official travel, such as TDYs.

Shuttle rides are offered six times a day, Monday through Friday, at 6:15, 8:15 and 10:15 a.m. and 2:15, 6:15 and 8:15 p.m., except on holidays.

"In tight fiscal times with limited travel budgets, the Hanscom shuttle is the way to go," said James Taggart, 66th Logistics Readiness Squadron director. "Efficiency and savings is a main focus in hard times and it's a great, convenient service being offered."

To sign up for shuttle service, the 66th Logistics Readiness Squadron encourages base personnel to use "eShuttle," a web-based application that schedules travelers to and from Logan International Airport for the purposes of business travel.

All Department of Defense personnel assigned to Hanscom who have access to the Electronic Systems Center's CenterNet can access the "EShuttle" site by going to the ESHUTTLE page. After selecting shuttle travel times, users should fax a copy of the travel orders to the Vehicle Operations Office at 781-377-5922. Once the orders are faxed, the reservation will be confirmed via email. When the confirmation is received, users may then select a return trip from the airport back to Hanscom.

Also listed on the CenterNet site are shuttle stop locations around the base. Pick up points are at Buildings 1614 East, 1614 West, 1606, 1600, 1103 (old Air Force Research Lab library), Hanscom Conference Center, base lodging and the pool parking lot near housing.

"This shuttle provides an awesome opportunity to save some money and reduce the hassle of travel," Mr. Taggart said. "I really hope more people take advantage of it."

Other useful information that can be found on CenterNet includes Logan Airport terminals and airline locations, frequently asked questions and pertinent telephone numbers.

Shuttle reservations can be made up to two months in advance and base personnel are encouraged to use this convenient service for their official travel orders.

In the event of changes or updates to travel, customers may contact Vehicle Operations Dispatch at 781-377-2588.
