Council studying more options for commuters

  • Published
The 128 Business Council is conducting a survey to analyze interest in another commuter shuttle to service Hanscom. Potential routes include the Alewife MBTA station, the Park and Ride on Route 128 or Route 2 or the Anderson Regional Transportation Center in Woburn.

This short survey is the first step in exploring a shuttle service similar to Hanscom-Nashua Shuttle.

With the price of gas continuing to rise, there may be opportunities to implement more cost-effective alternatives for Hanscom commuters. This effort will explore the feasibility of creating transportation alternatives, such as subscription bus access and vanpools.

Those interested are asked to complete the online survey by May 6. The survey is completely anonymous and the results will be provided to the Route 128 Business Council for their review and use in developing transportation alternatives.

This is also a potential opportunity for military and Department of Defense civilians to take advantage of the Transportation Incentive Program, which offers employees up to $230 per month in vouchers to pay for eligible transportation costs.
