The Integrated Delivery System (IDS) and Community Action Information Board (CAIB) are hosting the 2011 Caring for People Forum on May 3 and are looking for volunteers to share their thoughts and opinions.

The goal of this forum is to allow community members to identify, develop and prioritize issues that affect their personal and professional lives and identify these to leadership.

"We're looking for military members, civilians, spouses, teens and retirees to join work groups to identify and discuss problem areas that are affecting life in the Air Force at Hanscom or the military as a whole," said Dr. Sondra Albano, IDS chair. "We want as many people as possible to participate and we want to know your concerns."

The forum, which is Air Force mandated, takes place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Hanscom Conference Center, Building 1106.

There will be seven areas of focus, including family support, housing, spouse communication, school issues, health and wellness, single airman support and special needs support.

"Even if you cannot participate in the forum, we encourage you to send your quality of life issues, along with your recommendations on solutions, to our focus group points of contact," said Dr. Albano.

Issues that may require major command, Air Force or Department of Defense action will be forwarded for consideration.

"This is an annual opportunity for the Hanscom community to provide honest and thoughtful feedback for local, MAJCOM [major command] and Air Force resolution," said Col. Stacy L. Yike, 66th Air Base Group commander. "This is your chance to own the process."

Anyone interested in participating or offering a discussion topic should contact Anne Wilson or Dawn Andreucci from the Airman and Family Readiness Center. They can be reached by emailing anne.wilson@hanscom.af.mil or dawn.andreucci@hanscom.af.mil or calling 781-377-4222.
