Unit Climate Assessment survey ongoing

A survey to evaluate the human relations climate at the Electronic Systems Center, called a Unit Climate Assessment, is currently open to all federal civilian employees and military members.

The voluntary survey began Jan. 31 and runs through Feb. 14.

"This assessment gives personnel a direct avenue to provide anonymous feedback to senior leadership," said 1st Lt. Danielle Reese, Equal Opportunity deputy director. "Also, it's an opportunity to provide suggestions for areas that may need improvement."

The climate assessment program is a management tool provided to all commanders. The findings from the survey provide leaders with a snapshot of their organization at a given time.

Commanders can use the results to help them assess their organization's human relations climate, including equal opportunity. In addition, the program can also be very useful in planning and establishing unit strategic goals as well as ensuring unit cohesion and productivity.

The assessment can also identify factors affecting mission accomplishment and, when appropriate, recommendations for improvement can be made.

Personnel should receive a notification letter from their organization's leadership to encourage participation in the survey. This letter will provide participants with the UCA website, the assessment time period and a case sensitive access code which must be manually entered into the site. The assessment takes about 15 minutes to complete and can be taken on any computer with an internet connection.
