Education fair gives Hanscom community direct access to college reps Published Jan. 20, 2011 By Capt. Geoff Buteau 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Hanscom Education and Training Center will sponsor their first education fair of 2011, themed "Move with a Purpose...Learn with a Goal!" The fair is scheduled for Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Minuteman Club's Patriot Lounge. Twenty-two local colleges and universities will be marketing their degree and certificate programs for the Hanscom community. The fair is open to anyone interested in enrolling in local and distance-learning colleges, which includes all active-duty, Guard and Reserve members, family members, government employees and contractors. According to Cynthia Nunes-Taijeron, a guidance counselor at Hanscom's Education and Training Center, the following schools are scheduled to attend: Ashford University, American Military University-Military Programs, Boston University, Cambridge College, Emmanuel College, Empire State College, ITT Technical Institute, Johnson and Wales University, Jones International University, Mount Ida College, National Graduate School of Quality Management, Nichols College, North Shore Community College, Northeastern University, Park University, Porter and Chester Institute, Salem State University, Suffolk University, TUI University, University of Phoenix, University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth, University of Massachusetts School of Law and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Ms. Nunes-Taijeron suggests those interested in pursuing their academic goals start at the education fair to get specific information about the degree programs they are interested from the experts.
