Sponsors can now receive training online Published Dec. 9, 2010 By Mark Wyatt 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Hanscom Air Force Base recently launched an online sponsor training and resource tool on CenterNet, which will better assist relocating Airmen and their families with sponsors at the gaining organizations. According to Terri O'Keefe, a community readiness team lead with the Airman and Family Readiness Center, the new site, called e-Sponsorship Application and Training site (e-SAT), offers a sponsor a one-stop-shop resource for information on training, links to relocation resources and an e-mail function designed to facilitate necessary communication between sponsors and incoming families. "E-SAT syncs nicely with Military Installations and Plan My Move, two other DoD-developed online tools to help incoming personnel and their families," said Ms. O'Keefe. "The application is part of a series of new online resources the Department of Defense has created to improve the relocation experience." Through e-SAT, unit leaders will be able to monitor and receive timely feedback on their sponsorship programs, as well. The program will connect personnel with a fully qualified sponsor, generally of a similar rank or position, who can effectively assist with information such as lodging, local schools, housing and employment opportunities for a spouse. Sponsor training is mandatory for all new sponsors and those sponsors who haven't been trained in the past year. Hanscom sponsors can now access and complete their training through e-SAT from the CenterNet training page.
