Get ready to clap and cheer. On Dec. 10 Hanscom will once again roll out the red carpet and formally welcome home its returned deployers and their families for a Heroes Homecoming.

Hanscom's leadership, along with some special guests, will join in this community celebration as Hanscom's finest will be officially welcomed home during a ceremony in the Aero Club Hangar starting at 2:30 p.m. Amy-Jayne McCabe will open things up by singing the national anthem.

The event is open to the entire base population and has been declared an alternate duty location for Hanscom personnel. Lt. Gen. Ted Bowlds, Electronic Systems Center commander, will recognize the deployed contributions of Airmen assigned to Hanscom who have returned from the area of responsibility since the last Heroes Homecoming celebration in June.

All military and civilian personnel who have deployed and have not received their e-mail invitation to be part of the honoree group are asked to contact J.C. Corcoran at 781-377-6851 or e-mail at james.corcoran@hanscom.af.mil.

Thanks to the 66th Force Support Squadron, free pizza and sandwiches will be available following the event. Assorted beverages will also be available. Featured entertainment before and after the ceremony will be the rhythm and blues sound of X-Band, a group of talented musicians composed of Raytheon employees who are generously donating their time and talents for this special event.

For more information about the Heroes Homecoming or to sign up to volunteer contact Sarah Olaciregui in the 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs office at 781-377-4467.
