With federal employees soon able to change their health and benefit plans during "open season", the Health and Wellness Center (HAWC) will host a Health and Benefits Fair at the Minuteman Club on Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to educate the community on new programs for the upcoming year.

"Too often we search for a point of contact with an organization or insurance agency so we can get answers to our questions," said William Carpenter, Health Promotions manager. "For employees seeking assistance with their insurance choices a week before open season, the Health and Benefits Fair will save time in searching for websites, telephone numbers or waiting to speak with the right person to address your specific need."

In addition to insurance company representatives available to answer questions, several base community agencies will be in attendance to educate base personnel about their new programs.

"For the HAWC, this year we will be targeting our tobacco user population, with November being the month of the Great American Smokeout," said Mr. Carpenter.

In addition, those who are new to the area may not be aware of what the Airman and Family Readiness Center has to offer, but can acquire all that information at this event.

The following is a list of organizations expected to attend:
Blue Cross/Blue Shield
Fallon
Metlife
Government Employees Health Association (GEHA)
U.S. Family Health Plan
Health and Wellness Center
Airman and Family Readiness Center
Mental Health/Family Advocacy Program
Fitness Center
Base Library
