Oktoberfest 2010 set for Oct. 1 Published Sept. 16, 2010 By Sarah Olaciregui 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Oktoberfest, an event sure to please the entire family, is set for Oct. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Aero Club Hangar. This year's celebration will feature a German band called the Mad Bavarian Brass Band. In addition, DJ Bob Caldeira will offer music, games and sing-alongs. Children and adults alike will enjoy juggling by Peter Panic. "Oktoberfest is a great way to welcome the start of the fall season," said Mr. Russell Jackson, 66th Force Support Squadron program manager. "There will be plenty of food, fun and festivities for the entire family." A variety of vendors will be on hand to serve up everything from pretzels and cotton candy to bratwurst and root beer floats. A number of activities for kids are also planned, including pumpkin decorating, face painting, a bouncy castle and a variety of amusements. For those looking for a convenient way to get to and from the Aero Club Hangar, a bus will be available near the housing area to transport people back and forth. Those interested in riding the bus may go to the base pool parking lot at the times listed below. Buses will also be available to return people back to the pool parking lot.
