Electronic Systems Commander Lt. Gen. Ted Bowlds will host a Wing Inactivation Ceremony on June 30 at 10 a.m. at the Hanscom Parade Field behind the base service station.

During the event, the five numbered wings located on Hanscom will be inactivated.

The currently planned schedule starts with the inactivation of the 66th Air Base Wing and continues with the inactivation of the 653rd Electronic Systems Wing, the 350th ELSW, the 554th ELSW and the 551st ELSW.

At his commander's call on May 20, General Bowlds said each of ESC's wings had achieved some tremendous things, and that their members should take great pride in this knowledge.

The acquisition wings will be reorganized to directorates, while the air base wing will become an air base group.

Following the inactivations, the air base group activation will be held.

The Patriot Honor Guard and the Air Force's Band of Liberty will also participate in the ceremony.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Aero Club hangar.
