Airmen from Hanscom are scheduled to host a "Turkey Give and Take" event on Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., where those affiliated with the base -- military and civilian -- will have the opportunity to donate or receive a turkey.

Having this event allows those that have the capacity to donate the critcal part to an enjoyable Thanksgiving to do so, and those that may be in need this season to use the community to their advantage, said Chief Master Sgt. Laura Wilkes, an organizer of the event.

The event is voluntary and anonymous and is not in conjunction with any other
Thanksgiving or wing-man event, she said.

Those interested can drop off or pick up a turkey at the 319th Recruiting Squadron at 59 Otis St.

"This program is about families helping families; there will be no questions asked," said Sergeant Wilkes. "So please stop by and give or take a turkey so everyone has a wonderful and plentiful Thanksgiving."

Sergeant Wilkes can be reached at (781) 377-3923.
