ESC’s Shiely, Wright, O’Neill award finalists announced

Editor's Note: The following article is the first of three in a series highlighting the Shiely, Wright, and O'Neill Awards, which will be announced on Nov.5 This week's article focuses on the Shiely Award. 

Electronic Systems Center Commander Lieutenant General Ted F. Bowlds has announced the finalists for the 2009 Shiely, Wright, and O'Neill Awards. The Awards Banquet will take place Nov. 5 at the Minuteman Club from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lieutenant General Ronald T. Kadish (ret.) will be the guest speaker. The event includes dinner, entertainment, and the award presentations. 

Tickets are $23 for club members and $25 for non-club members. Tickets will be available through unit representatives. Registration can also be accomplished by accessing the link listed under the ESC CenterNet homepage 'What's New' section. Stay tuned to future additions of the Hansconian for further information regarding the event. 

The Maj. Gen. Albert R. Shiely Jr. Award is presented for organizational acquisition excellence to the most outstanding Major and Minor ESC program offices. The award recognizes the vital role and significant mission execution these programs have provided for the nation's defense. General Shiely donated the original trophy upon retiring from the Air Force in March 1974.
