Hanscom employees will once again have an opportunity to help those less fortunate through the Combined Federal Campaign, the federal government's sole annual charity drive, which began last week and will run through Nov. 13.

This year's CFC drive at Hanscom has a goal of raising $244,000. During the campaign, people have the opportunity to choose from hundreds of local, national and international charities, and can make a donation in cash, through payroll deduction or online.

"CFC is a great opportunity to help more than 2,000 local, national and international charitable organizations," said Lieutenant Ferry, CFC Representative for Hanscom. "Even small donations add up quickly and help tremendously. We need everyone's support to make a difference by helping exceed our goal this year. If everyone contributes even a little we will be well on our way to reaching our goal for this year's campaign," Lieutenant Ferry said.

"Our goal this year is to raise at least $244,000 and, as always, to make 100 percent contact by Oct. 21 with every military member and government civilian assigned to Hanscom," said Kay Teahan, CFC Representative for Hanscom.

Opportunities to donate to Hanscom's campaign will be plentiful; volunteers from each of the wings will facilitate employee giving by making the rounds to answer employee questions and distribute contribution forms, in addition to numerous fundraising activities that will be held by individual wings and units.

This year every employee who contributes to Hanscom's CFC will be entered in the Early Bird Drawing for a chance to win one of the following:

- 1st Prize - $1000 Best Buy Gift Card
- 2nd Prize - $500 Best Buy Gift Card
- 3rd Prize - $250 Best Buy Gift Card
- 4th Prize - $100 Best Buy Gift Card

President John F. Kennedy established the CFC in 1961 with the goal of improving and controlling the fundraising process within the federal government.
