One of the many "crown jewels" here at Hanscom is the quality service and care provided by the veterinary clinic to the hundreds of military family pet owners who reside on and off base.

The staff of the base veterinarian treatment facility, headed by Dr. Heather Mazzaccaro, NCOIC, Army Sgt Robert Parrott and Rachel Zdon, office manager are committed to providing those special "family members" the best in service in order to keep them healthy and safe all year round.

When asked about their particular specialty Sergeant Parrott said, "It is our distinct honor and privilege to serve the most deserving customers in the world - the American service member and their families. They are our Nations heroes, and they deserve our best efforts and the highest quality of care we can provide."

Services provided by the veterinary clinic include a variety of vaccinations such as: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella (Kennel cough); Feline Leukemia, Lyme and Lepto-4. Additionally, services such as nail trims, ear cleaning, blood work, and full urinalysis tests are also provided at a reasonable cost.

Those authorized to utilize the services of the Vet Clinic include Active Duty and Retired military members and their dependants that have a DoD identification card and are eligible for DEERS enrollment. In addition to the treatment costs, a government mandated user fee of $2 is added to each transaction.

In addition to treatment services, the Clinic provides preventative treatments, products for flea and ticks, and Heartworm prevention. Prices vary so customers are encouraged to call the clinic for information.

Traveling overseas? The clinic also offers health certificates to all overseas duty sites, free of charge.

Hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with minor walk-ins available. Wednesday the clinic operates by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Clinic is closed on Thursday for training as well as all federal holidays.
