Corcoran 66 th Air Base Wing Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Hanscom Air Force Sergeant's Association is once again teaming up with the Paul Revere Chapter of the Air Force Association in hosting the 2009 Veteran's Picnic that will take place Aug. 29, at softball fields #1 and 2 located on Marrett Street next to the tennis courts. Volunteer support is needed for the event to help with set up; serving food to the veterans; assisting in the various activities; or, just taking some time to chat with those in attendance. Everyone at Hanscom is invited to help in making this event another great success and a memorable day for the expected 200 veterans who will be visiting. The picnic is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and run until 2:30 p.m. "We held this event for the first time last year with great success. We had about 200 veterans from the surrounding area attend," said Staff Sgt. Tawnee DeCarvalho, Air Force Sergeant's Association vice president. "This year the Air Force Sergeants Association is assisting the AFA's Paul Revere Chapter with the planning of this event in coordination with the 66th Force Support Squadron," she said.
