The first essential element of a successful job search is a winning resume. The average employer spends just 15 seconds viewing each resume; it must be done properly to secure the next step in the application process - an interview. This is especially true during difficult economic times, when competition for employment is especially fierce.

Once an individual has convinced an employer that he or she deserves further consideration and secures an interview, the individual must be prepared to answer behavior-based interview questions, which are common in interviews for jobs in both private and federal sectors.

On June 23, the Airman and Family Readiness Center will offer resume-building and interview technique classes presented by Louise Kursmark, a resume expert and author of 20 career books. The Million Dollar Resumes class will take place from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; Ace the Behavior-Based Interview will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Both classes will be held at the A&FRC.
