Electronic Systems Center and the local Air Force Association chapter are in the early stages of planning a C2ISR Symposium to be held Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at the MGM Grand Hotel at Foxwoods in Ledyard, Conn.

According to Angela Dupont, president of the AFA's Paul Revere Chapter, the symposium will be modeled after previous C2ISR summits the chapter has held, most recently in 2004, and will feature senior leaders from across the Department of Defense and industry, as well as a huge exhibit area with the latest technology displays.

"Working closely with Col. Rob Domniguez and his 350th Electronic Systems Wing, we are currently outlining what we think will be an exciting line up of informative presentations focused on command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems," Ms. Dupont said. "We will have a strong focus on joint C2ISR in this symposium, along with a strong presence from industry in our presentations. I hope people will mark their calendars with these late summer dates, because this is shaping up to be a can't-miss event."

The event will kick off Aug. 31 with a golf tournament on the MGM Grand's two new, 18-hole championship golf courses, followed by an opening reception in the exhibit hall. The next two days will feature presentations in the MGM's 4,000-seat theater, with an evening dinner gala Sept. 1 in the resort's ballroom.

"We are excited to hold the event at the MGM Grand, which opened last May," said Ms. Dupont. "We've learned from our past events, including last year's Cyber Symposium, that there is great demand for exhibit space and ample, comfortable seating at our conferences. Although not located in the Boston area, this new facility is world-class with every amenity we need, and is equally affordable, or even a little less expensive, than any of the previous locations where we've hosted an event."

Ms. Dupont said she and other AFA members are developing a web site where people can sign up to attend the symposium and reserve exhibit hall space. She expects to announce the web site address and event pricing within a few weeks.

"We look forward to working together with the 350th and the rest of the ESC team to put on a world-class symposium," she said.
