Operation Pumpkin keeps trick or treating fun, safe Published Oct. 17, 2008 By Tech. Sgt. Shon Teicheira 66th Security Forces Squadron HANSCOM AFB, Mass. -- It's that time of year when children are filled with the excitement and anticipation of a night filled with costumes, candy, and fun. Hanscom trick or treating will take place Oct. 31 between 6 and 8 p.m. Keeping the tricks to a minimum and the treating safe and fun is the goal of this year's operation. Several Hanscom organizations have teamed up for "Operation Pumpkin" to ensure Halloween night is a positive and incident-free evening. Operation Pumpkin volunteers from the 66th Security Forces Squadron, along with other units will patrol the housing in reflective vests to be easily recognizable to members of our community. Security Forces volunteers will also be operating all-terrain vehicles in the housing area to provide a presence and quick response to any incidents requiring immediate attention. Everyone is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to Operation Pumpkin volunteers or the Law Enforcement Desk at (781) 377-2315.
