A&FRC honored for outstanding customer service Published May 12, 2008 By J.C. Corcoran 66th Air Base Wing Public Affairs HANSCOM AFB, Mass. -- Hanscom's Airman & Family Readiness Center was recognized with the Outstanding Customer Service Team Award, presented by the Greater Boston Federal Executive Board at their recent Excellence in Government awards luncheon. Competing against other federal agencies such as the First U.S. Coast Guard District, the Army Corps of Engineers and the General Services Administration, the Hanscom A&FRC was selected as the "best of the best" in its category. Recognized for its outstanding work and innovative programs, the A&FRC was recognized for being the "Gold Standard" among Airman and Family Readiness Centers throughout the Air Force. "The A&FRC team provides outstanding service intuitively," said Dr. Sondra Albano the A&FRC director. Our personnel have internalized the Air Force core values and the Air Base Wing strategic goal of developing relationships with our customers that would compel them to choose the 66 ABW as their provider of choice. Providing premium support is hard work, but it also just comes naturally." The GBFEB established the Excellence in Government Awards in 1974 as a means of celebrating local Federal employee successes. This prestigious event recognizes and rewards the "best of the best" in Federal service. Those submitted for recognition represent Federal employees who have distinguished themselves with exceptional performance, integrity, and dedication to public service among the more than 46,000 Federal employees in the Greater Boston community. "This is absolutely fantastic and well deserved," said Col. Bob Boyles, 66th Mission Support Group commander. "The members of the A&FRC have been previously recognized by AFMC as the best in the command for nine consecutive years as well as the best in Air Force in 2000 and 2007. Their selection for this award just reiterates what commanders here have always known, that they are the best and truly reflect the Air Force slogan 'Above All'," he said.
