Morin named Logistics Manager of the Year Published Feb. 5, 2008 By J.C. Corcoran 66th Air Base Wing Public Affairs HANSCOM AFB, Mass. -- Stephen Morin, chief of the 66th Mission Support Group's Logistics Readiness Flight, was selected as Air Force Materiel Command's Logistics Readiness Senior Civilian Manager of the Year for 2007. Described in his nomination package as the Electronic Systems Center's "go-to" deployments expert and leader, Mr. Morin was credited with planning, controlling and directing the deployment of 195 personnel filling Air and Space Expeditionary Force taskings as well as coordinating the movement of 25 AEF strategic airlift missions, all with zero discrepancies. His expertise contributed to the Deployment Control Center being recognized as an "Outstanding Team" during last June's Operational Readiness Inspection and also directly led to the Logistics Division receiving an "Excellent" rating during the inspection. His major contributions to the ORI included completely revising and publishing a new Installation Deployment Plan that served as a blueprint to ORI excellence. He also planned, coordinated and executed six ORI-preparation readiness exercises in which 996 personnel and 39 tons of cargo were processed while overcoming all real-world challenges and Inspector General exercise injects, resulting in 100 percent on-time departures. Mr. Morin was selected by AFMC as its MAJCOM subject matter expert, taking part in a worldwide Air Force effort to develop the first-ever Installation Deployment Officer training module, which will be used to train new IDOs, helping to ensure success in their critical duties. "Mr. Morin's contributions to the success of Logistics Branch have been invaluable and his selection as the Senior Civilian Manager of the Year for AFMC is much deserved," said Jim Taggart, 66 MSG, Logistics director. "There is no doubt that Steve is the best in the command."
