HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The 66th Force Support Squadron invites all with base access to attend Oktoberfest here with German-themed entertainment, food, and activities Oct. 4.
Festivities will begin at 3 p.m. in the Fitness and Sports Center parking lot.
“We are excited to bring back our fall community event, Oktoberfest, to the base,” said Andrew Lane, 66 FSS community programs specialist and event coordinator. “One of last year’s fan-favorites, a live German band, is returning to capture the attention of the crowd.”
The family-friendly event will include free food, an axe-throwing trailer, crafts, free bowling, an outdoor movie showing, a car show, and more.
Residents are encouraged to walk from housing if the weather permits, but parking will be available at Outdoor Recreation and the Chapel.
“Last year’s Oktoberfest was so much fun,” said Alysha Brandy, 66 FSS community programs manager. “The FSS team has worked hard to plan an even better event this year, so come say ‘prost’ with us.”
Organizers emphasize the importance of drinking responsibly and to arrange for a designated driver, if needed.
The event will be held rain or shine.
