HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Base officials have announced a series of Halloween- and fall-themed events throughout October to foster community connections.

The 66th Force Support Squadron will host “Tabletop Knights: Halloween Edition” on Friday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Tavern.

Open to those ages 18 and older, participants can enjoy board games such as “Last Night on Earth” and “Betrayal at House on the Hill.” Guests are also encouraged to bring their own favorite games and costumes.

The event is free, and those interested can contact Staff Sgt. Brandon Harp at brandon.r.harp2.mil@health.mil.

Later that evening, a Halloween-themed Trivia Night will take place at 6:30 p.m. at The Tavern, followed by karaoke and open mic.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, Outdoor Recreation will host Haunted Harvest from 2 to 4 p.m. The event, open to all ages, will feature bounce houses, crafts, and games. Costumes are encouraged.

For more information, contact Heather Colson at heather.colson.2@us.af.mil.

That same day, Oct. 30, families of deployed members, remote tour members, Exceptional Family Member Program families, and single parents are invited to a special Halloween Party from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event will include activities for children and an opportunity for families to connect.

In the evening, the 66th Security Forces Squadron Defender Council will host Trunk-or-Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. in the clinic overflow parking lot. This event will feature candy, pumpkin decorating, and themed vehicles for children to trick-or-treat in a safe environment.

SFS officials will present a prize to the best decorated vehicle.

Those interested in participating in Trunk-or-Treat can contact Senior Airman Jacob Begin at jacob.begin@us.af.mil.

The traditional Pumpkin Patrol will follow on Halloween night, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. Defenders and volunteers will patrol family housing to ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters. Volunteers will wear reflective vests, and military participants are encouraged to wear their uniforms.

“Our goal is to ensure that everyone in the Hanscom community, especially the kids, has a safe and fun Halloween,” said Senior Airman Andrew Whitaker, project officer for Pumpkin Patrol.

Community members are encouraged to report suspicious activity to Pumpkin Patrol participants, the Law Enforcement Desk at 781-225-5000, or the Crime Stop Hotline at 781-225-6920.

Each event is open to those with base access.
