HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Warhawks First Sergeants Council here will again help military families through the annual Angel Tree program this holiday season.

The annual first-sergeant-led initiative provides gifts to children of Hanscom AFB-connected families in need.

“The Angel Tree program is a tradition that brings joy and relief to families who may be facing challenges,” said Master Sgt. Jessica Campbell, first sergeant for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. “It’s heartwarming to see our community come together to support each other in this way.”

Starting Nov. 27, the Angel Tree will be set up at the Base Exchange, decorated with tags indicating gift suggestions for children.

Military members, civilians, and other base personnel are encouraged to pick up a tag, purchase a gift, and return it unwrapped to the collection box located in the Main Exchange.

Gifts will be distributed no later than Dec. 18.

“The holidays can be an especially difficult time for some military families, and this program is a reminder that they are not alone,” said Master Sgt. Andrea Nehmer, 66th Medical Squadron first sergeant. “It’s wonderful to witness the generosity that makes this initiative possible.”

Anyone who wishes to make a monetary contribution to the program can speak to any first sergeant on base.

“This program is more than just about giving gifts; it’s about showing our families that they are appreciated and supported,” said Campbell. “Together, we can help make the holiday season a little brighter for those who serve.”
