HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Base officials hosted a Community College of the Air Force commencement ceremony at the Minuteman Commons here May 2.
The ceremony recognized graduates from the spring 2023 and fall 2024 semesters.
“The ceremony is a celebration of resilience, commitment and growth,” said Tech. Sgt. Katrina Washington, event organizer and Health Care Management graduate. “Earning this degree while balancing mission demands wasn’t easy, but it shows that with determination and the right support, anything is possible.”
Col. Jorge Jimenez, installation commander, conferred the degrees during the ceremony, and Senior Master Sgt. Marivic Fellores delivered the commencement address.
“A CCAF degree is not only an achievement, but also an investment,” she said to graduates. “You’ve made the investment to better yourself. It's proof of your dedication to lifelong learning, a quality that will serve you well not just in your Air Force career, but in all aspects of your life.”
For many Airmen, a CCAF degree represents an important milestone in their pursuit of higher education, often serving as a foundation for advanced degrees.
During the ceremony, the Air Force Sergeants Association Paul Revere Chapter presented a scholarship to Tech. Sgt. Dean Concepion, and the Paul Revere Chapter of the Air and Space Forces Association presented a Pitsenbarger Scholarship Award to Staff Sgt. Eduardo Gloria.
The CCAF is a federally chartered, degree-granting institution serving the U.S. Air and Space Forces’ enlisted total force. It partners with more than 112 affiliated Air Force schools and 300 education service offices worldwide, annually awarding more than 22,000 Associate of Applied Science degrees across 71 degree programs.
The CCAF was established in 1972 to provide academic recognition for the technical training conducted by Air Force schools.
