HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – National Police Week events, the retirement of two military working dogs, and a recent Health and Wellness Fair are among the topics featured in the latest episode of Team Hanscom Today.

Senior Airman Antonio Powell-Fields, a defender with the 66th Security Forces Squadron, serves as guest host for the episode, highlighting key events happening across the installation.

“This week, we recognize National Police Week,” said Powell-Fields during the episode. “From an opening ceremony and ruck march to a golf tournament, there’s something for everyone.”

National Police Week, observed annually in May, honors law enforcement professionals across the country, including U.S. Air Force Security Forces members serving worldwide.

At Hanscom AFB, a series of events are planned throughout the week to recognize the dedication and sacrifice of SFS defenders.

The events aim to build camaraderie while honoring those who serve and protect. Base officials encourage all members of the community to participate and show support.

Also featured in the weekly program is a tribute to Military Working Dogs Dora and PPhan, who both officially retired from service during a ceremony held here May 3.

“These K-9 warriors served with loyalty and strength, helping protect their handlers, our installation, and the overall Team Hanscom mission,” said Powell-Fields. “We thank them for their service and wish them a happy and relaxing retirement.”

Both dogs will now enjoy retirement as adopted pets.

The episode also highlights the 66th Force Support Squadron’s Health and Wellness Fair, held last week at the Fitness and Sports Center.

“It was an awesome event that showed just how committed our community is to taking care of people,” said Powell-Fields.
