HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Construction updates and deployable communications systems are among the topics featured in the latest episode of Team Hanscom Today.

Hosted by Tech. Sgt. James Counts, a member of the 66th Security Forces Squadron, the episode begins with a traffic alert related to ongoing construction at Sartain Gate.

“Drivers should plan ahead and allow extra time during peak travel hours,” said Counts.

Inbound traffic will be rerouted to the outbound lane soon, creating a single lane in each direction. The temporary shift is expected to remain in place for more than two months.

Next, the episode highlights the Cyber and Networks Directorate’s Theater Deployable Communications, or TDC. This modular, scalable equipment system enables secure network access in harsh or remote environments and was developed and managed right here at Hanscom.

“These capabilities help ensure warfighters remain connected no matter where the mission takes them,” said Counts.

Lt. Col. James Herold and Capt. Anthony Sico recently showcased a fly-away communications terminal during the Lincoln Fair and Feast community celebration in Lincoln, Massachusetts.
