HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – In an effort to increase physical readiness and fitness in Airmen and civilians here, the 66th Medical Squadron’s Operation Support Team is kicking off a new physical fitness series June 27.

HanscomFit Challenges are a series of ten hybrid workouts combining strength and cardio exercises in a fun, challenging environment.

“Workouts will change from week to week,” said Kurt Peterson, 66 OST specialist. “The initial challenge may include SkiErg, running, assault bike, sled push and pull, running, rowing and burpees with dumbbells.”

Peterson said participants can look forward to guest workouts created by installation commander Col. Jorge Jimenez and equal opportunity anti-harassment program manager Jason Dicosimo. Activities are designed for moderately fit participants, and each session will take 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Challenges will be held every other Friday through Oct. 31 at the fitness and sports center from 7 to 9 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to sign up in advance to reserve their spot, but walk-ins are also welcome. Sessions are open to active duty, guard, and reserve members; retirees; Department of Defense civilians; contractors; and dependents aged 16 and up.

Challenge dates are June 27, July 11 and 25, Aug. 8 and 22, Sept. 5 and 19, and Oct. 3, 17 and 31.

The HanscomFit Challenges directly support the 66th Air Base Group’s line of effort, Strengthen People, by investing in training and resilience.
