HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Base officials will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons to mark the opening of the new entry control point at the Sartain Gate.

Speakers will include representatives from the 66th Air Base Group, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Massachusetts state government.

“This project has been a tremendous example of teamwork between our base civil engineering team and mission partners,” said Demetri Papathanasiou, 66th Civil Engineer Division project manager.

Although the new gate is now operational, construction in the area is ongoing. Drivers should remain alert for lane shifts and follow posted signage.

The project at the Hanscom Drive entrance is part of a multi-phase construction effort that began in 2022.
