HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – More than 100 vehicles rolled into the Commissary and Main Exchange parking lot here July 19 for a family-friendly car show.

The event, organized by Mohamed Samshair of the 66th Civil Engineering Division and Team Hanscom partners, brought together car enthusiasts, families, and local partners.

“This was about more than just cars,” said Samshair. “It was a way to bring our community together and enjoy a great summer day with friends and families.”

Featuring muscle cars, supercars, antiques and more, the show offered something for every generation of auto enthusiasts.

Planning the show took weeks of coordination by a team of supporters who made the event a success.

Samshair credited LauraLee Morris, 66th Security Forces Squadron, Civil Engineers, 66th Force Support Squadron, the Commissary, the Exchange, and the credit union.

“Without them, this event wouldn’t have been possible,” he said.

The car show represents just one of many events taking place as part of a summer-long calendar filled with activities for all. From outdoor movie nights to fitness challenges, there is something happening throughout the summer for all.

While many activities are planned by the 66th Force Support Squadron, others are planned by private organizations or held off-base.
