HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Two Cloud One interns shared insights from their summer experience during this week’s episode of Team Hanscom Today.

Doulos Wynn and Liam Cummings, University of Massachusetts Lowell students and SAIC interns, served as guest hosts for the episode, highlighting their contributions to the Department of Defense’s cloud modernization efforts.

“We’ve had the opportunity to work alongside the DoD’s premier cloud team, helping application owners migrate to secure cloud environments,” said Wynn. “It’s been a great experience supporting the mission over the past eight weeks.”

The interns supported key initiatives, including deploying Kubernetes applications to cloud service providers, enhancing system scalability, and integrating monitoring tools to improve reliability and cost-efficiency.

“I developed and deployed digital tools to support our team’s infrastructure,” said Cummings. “I also implemented the digital service Karpenter to enhance dynamic scaling of virtual machines.”

Wynn focused on improving cloud storage compatibility, troubleshooting deployment issues, and creating technical documentation to support long-term mission continuity.

The episode also featured updates from Maj. Gen. Luke Cropsey, program executive officer for Command, Control, Communications, Battle Management and Intelligence, who recently introduced three strategic anchors to guide the directorate’s future. These focus areas aim to accelerate innovation, build mission resilience, and remove barriers that impede progress.

The episode concluded with recognition for recently promoted Airmen and the 66th Air Base Group’s second quarter award winners.
