HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Capt. Jordan Loehr, 66th Medical Squadron Warrior Operational Medicine Flight commander, served as guest host for the latest episode of Team Hanscom Today, sharing medical updates, upcoming events and recognizing quarterly award winners.

During the episode, Loehr reminded the community that the 66th Medical Squadron is the first point of contact for non-emergent medical needs.

“Call 781-225-6789 or use the GENESIS Patient Portal anytime, anywhere, to get connected to the right care,” Loehr said. “If you call after hours, you’ll be directed to the Nurse Advice Line, where they can address your concerns, guide you to the right facility, or book an appointment with your Primary Care Manager.”

She also emphasized that beginning Nov. 1, backdated urgent care referrals for military personnel will no longer be placed without prior authorization from the clinic’s care team or the Nurse Advice Line.

The episode highlighted several additional services, including the clinic’s walk-in Contraception Clinic, held Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m., and the next Patient and Family Partnership Meeting scheduled for Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. in building 1305.

“This [Patient and Family Partnership Meeting] is a great opportunity for you to share feedback and help us improve the medical care we provide to Team Hanscom,” Loehr said.

As part of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Loehr encouraged personnel to take part in installation events, such as the Glow Run hosted by the Integrated Prevention and Resilience Office, scheduled for Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the fitness center parking lot.

She also reminded viewers that the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline remains available 24/7.

The episode concluded with recognition of Team Hanscom’s recent quarterly award winners. Col. Jorge Jimenez, installation commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jason Vollmer, installation command chief, presented awards during a ceremony at the Minuteman Commons.

“Congratulations to our award recipients,” Loehr said. “Your commitment and professionalism make Team Hanscom stronger.”
